Fenn Bell Inn, Hoo, Medway

The Fenn Bell is very proud to hold Medway's first zoo licence. The zoo is known as the FBC project. All the animals you see here have come though rescue or from other zoos . We aim to give these animals a safe and enriching environment to live in. The most often asked question is "do we think its good to keep animals in enclosures?" My answer would have to be no. I would love to see all animals free but the animals we keep here would not have the skills to live in the wild they have been captivity bred. We are very proud of what we have built here at the Fenn Bell and do lots of work with schools on educating youngsters on these animals. We hope that you will see and understand the work and commitment that goes into what we do. If you would like to discuss any thing to do with the animals while you are here please ask to speak to a member of staff, we will be pleased to have a chat.

Zoo Licence Approved !

We took over the Fenn Bell in 2014 and after two and a half years of hard work Medway Council awarded us our zoo licence in June 2017

This for us is not the end though, this is just the beginning. We now can work with schools on education trips and work with other zoos on conservation projects.

We have many building projects on the go and have lots of work to do so bear with us while we are still building. We also now can offer you a trip out on our own popular safari truck which runs around our zoo 5 days a week.

We look forward to seeing you soon
